Howlong is situated on the Murray River midway between Albury and Corowa and a stone throw across the river to the famous Rutherglen Wineries. The area also has excellent shopping facilities with Albury-Wodonga being the major centre as well as providing many things to see and do. Further afield there are the tourist towns of Yackandandah, Chiltern and Beechworth.  All are of historic interest with a National Trust listing and have many early buildings and fascinating craft galleries and antique shops in which to browse.
